If you’re just getting into makeup you’ve probably found that finding affordable makeup products for your new hobby isn’t the easiest thing to do! But, if you’re also looking for makeup products that are affordable AND vegan, you’ve found yourself a whole uphill battle. Sadly not a lot of affordable makeup brands offer vegan options. The brands that do offer cruelty-free and vegan options are much more expensive and aren’t really attainable for beginning makeup enthusiasts.
So how do you ensure that you’re buying brushes that aren’t hurting animals? By buying brushes that are cruelty-free and/or vegan. Buying brushes that are cruelty-free guarantees that these brushes haven’t been tested on animals. The only way that you can ensure that you’re buying cruelty-free makeup brushes is buying brushes with synthetic bristles.

These are more affordable and just as good as the more expensive suggestions I’ve made. Eco Tools are also some of my weapons of choice. Their brushes are super soft, it’s hard to believe they’re synthetic. All of their handles are made from bamboo, and their glue is derived from vegan approved products. A very environmentally and animal-friendly company!
Spectrum has some of the most stunning makeup brushes on the market. And I own at least 2 of their collections. My favourites being the SIREN and the MARB-LEOUS brush sets. They’re cruelty-free, PETA registered and vegan certified as a company. Their brushes are pricey BUT they are worth every penny. And if looked after properly, will pretty much last you a lifetime.
SIGMA brushes are also up there as some of my absolute favourite brushes. Their kabuki foundation brushes are second to none and they do their job flawlessly. Their Mr/Mrs Bunny collections are the cruelty-free/vegan versions of their successful counterparts and are made using their super soft and super dense Sigmax® fibres. And I believe some of their brushes come with a 2yr warranty!
Morphe was a brand made famous by Jaclyn Hill. Recently Morphe has been working on creating vegan-friendly options for their makeup brushes. This set of makeup brushes is one of several options in terms of makeup brushes and shows a selection of face and eye brushes!
These are in pretty much every drug store available and their brushes are amazing quality and very well priced! I think I prefer their blending sponges over the beauty blender too… but shhh, don’t tell anyone.
You also have the choice of:
Kat Von D
PHB Ethical Beauty
And many more!
Sadly, there aren’t many affordable vegan brush options in the market for makeup. Which is why this list is so short! And I do appreciate some of the above mentioned are on the pricier side. However, the options listed here are outstanding brushes that are animal-friendly and many carry a vegan certification too!
Until next time ♡
