I am always on the hunt for new cruelty-free brands and products which can sometimes be hard to find, so when I came across this gem on Instagram I couldn’t help but reach out to them! Luckily for me Forest & Shore were happy for me review their Hallelujah Hair Oil and I was thrilled! I received this in the post the other day to test and was super excited to try it.
I have only come across one hair oil that I am happy with and that’s the Superdrug Hair Therapy Oil. It’s been a firm favourite however I’ve been dying to try something new but hair oil can be pretty hit and miss – some can make your hair feel greasy and heavy! Others can take what feels like forever to wash out.
♡ Who Are They? ♡
Forest & Shore are a new cruelty-free and vegan brand dedicated to bringing you something that’s completely plant powered. Their hair oil is 100% natural and organic with this being their first product of many (I hope). So there’s no harsh chemicals, no unhappy bunnies and nothing in there that is likely to harm your locks.
♡ Main Benefits of Hallelujah Hair Oil ♡
☑ MOISTURISING – The coconut, sesame and olive blend penetrates deep into the hair shaft working to efficiently hydrate dry hair.
☑ REPAIRING – Working from the inside out to heal any damaged, broken hair. Nourishing your hair with organic oils will restore the shine and promote silky hair.
☑ STIMULATES HAIR GROWTH – Coconut and sesame work together to lock in proteins to encourage hair growth.
☑ PROTECTING – Effective protection from harmful UV rays and heat, such as straighteners and hair dryers.
☑ 100% NATURAL & ORGANIC – Soil Association Certified Organic. Made with the highest quality ingredients in England.
♡ First Impressions ♡
Firstly, I absolutely love the packaging on this. The box is mainly monochrome and covered in little hand drawn flowers and botanicals. I think it’s really pretty and a nice change for garish, shiny and “shouty” packaging you get with a lot of other brands.
The hair oil can be used in one of two ways – either on towel dried hair (my preference) or on dry styled hair to maintain fly away’s and keep frizz at bay!
My hair is coloured and is drier through the winter months due to the cold so it really needed something to quench it’s thirst and bring it back to life. It’s got a really nice rosemary and lavender smell to it and a little REALLY goes a long with this stuff. I used less than a quarter of a teaspoon on my first go and it was major overkill. You literally need 4-5 drops of this stuff which means that it’s going to last forever and the little pippet(?) makes it really easy to make sure you get just the right amount.
♡ Final Thoughts ♡
Genuinely, I really like this stuff. I love the smell and it lingers for a lot of the day so you have a really calming effect from it. I’ve been using it on my hair when it’s damp for several weeks now as I wanted to give it a proper test before reviewing and I’ve really noticed an improvement in the condition of my hair. I’m not sure if this had anything to do with it – but it also grew likely crazy. No split ends, no heat damage. I went to the hairdressers recently and she was really impressed with the condition my hair was in given that I hadn’t been to see her in around 6 months. So clearly it’s doing something right!
So would I buy it myself? Absolutely. Considering this bottle is going to last me an absolute lifetime I think it’s worth every last penny. Where can you get it? Well it’s available from Amazon [ here ] for £15.99 with Prime Delivery (yey!) or can be bought directly from Forest & Shore [ here ]
Until next time! ♡
