July Tarot ⋆ Were The Cards Right?

Welcome back to another tarot card catch up. In my last instalment of the series, I mentioned that my card for July is The Chariot.

The Chariot represents conquest, pursuing your goals and overcoming opposition through confidence and willpower. It’s ultimately a card of success and determination. It reminds you to apply yourself to the task at hand and that you can overcome your fears or obstacles if you put your mind, heart, and soul into it. Whatever ‘it’ maybe. It’s about being strong, confident, self-discipline and asserting yourself. If you do this and work hard, you’ll excel and your pursuits and ambitions will pay off. Simply put, aim high and work hard – you will be rewarded.

A simpler more “matter of fact” meaning to this card can represent a lot of driving, a road trip or the purchase of a new car. Interesting…

“The Chariot requires you to assert yourself and be bold. You may need to look after yourself at this time and be confident in expressing your needs and wants, otherwise you will not get your way. You need to have faith in yourself and know fundamentally who you are and what you stand for (thus building off the personal belief systems and values established through the Lovers card).” – Biddy Tarot

My Thoughts

This card was accurate on two accounts. I had to really put the pieces together, but they were there none the less!

July Tarot - Were The Cards Right?

I decided to really take the prospect that this blog could be “something” seriously. It hadn’t really occurred to me before, because I almost felt a fraud. I still don’t feel like a “blogger” and charging for my services was completely alien to me. Truthfully, I assumed people would scoff and turn on their heels if I took this approach. Then I realised that my Instagram is growing, my Twitter is growing, my stats and email list are growing. There is a demand and an interest in the space I occupy on the internet (amazingly) and I often receive emails and requests to collaborate in exchange for a free product. But if someone wants me to promote them, then free stuff (as amazing as it is to get) isn’t going to pay my bills. So I started approaching it as a business and a form of income and it paid off. I’ve had paid promotions and collaborations and I’m really excited to see what comes next!

I bought a new car. It was completely on a whim when it actually happened and I literally drove up in my car to view it and drove off in my new one about 2hrs later. Now, this was something I had been thinking of doing for a while, I’m not THAT spontaneous. I wanted a little buffer for us as money was tight and it seemed a waste to have this 5 door, bigger car on the driveway. We won’t be having kids anytime soon and I only needed a little runaround. It was money that was just sat there.

I didn’t want to get rid of mine because it was paid off, low mileage and it was purple (lol!). But they weren’t good enough reasons in comparison to the financial support it would give us if I traded it in. So I was randomly scrolling on Autotrader and spotted a low mileage, purple Fiat 500 for a price I was sure I would never find again.
I’ve had a Fiat 500 before and I absolutely loved it. The only reason I gave it up was that I was expecting to have a mini-me by now and got a “Mum car”, but y’know… life. So I ran into the bedroom, told Karne to get in the car and we drove up to see it. She was perfect and I was buzzing. Every time I’ve made a big decision I’ve waited to have that gut feeling, and I had it again. They gave me the price I wanted for mine, and so I drove off in a cute little purple Fiat with money in my pocket and a smile on my face. Funny how these things happen.

Until next time ♡

  1. Good for you, Laura! Those are both absolutely amazing things! Good on ya for knowing free products won’t pay the bills. Your blog is looking great!
It made me giggle the fact I thought you were so spontaneous that you just bought a car but then you did elaborate. And a small purple Fiat sounds so cute – especially with more money in the pocket!
    Well done 🙂

    • Thank you for the lovely comment!

When it comes to big decisions I do tend to act on impulse! Moving in with my boyfriend, buying a house, getting my first car on finance. It’s all dive in, worry about it later haha. But I did plan this swap a little. But I’d given up thinking I’d never find what I wanted for the price I could pay… then BAM, after I stopped looking for about 4 weeks there she was!
