September Goals

September crept up on us like a creepy Uncle. Then I blink my eyes and half of it’s already gone. What the hell is that? I’m not complaining though as we’re moving into my favourite months and seasons. And I will shortly be rid of the dubious task of cutting the grass every other day!

My August goals were pretty simple and relatively easy to achieve. I did drink more water, I am just shy of finishing book 2 and I did stick to my exercise regime. So I’m pretty happy with that!
So now it’s time for September’s goals. What am I aiming for and what can benefit me? Hmmm.

Tick at Least 2 Things off my Wedding “To-Do” List – I’m pretty organised anyway and Bridebook has been a BLESSING in keeping on top of things. Seriously, if you’re planning a Wedding get on that because it will help you like crazy. Not just with organising and buidgeting but connecting you to vendors, caterers, photographers, decorators, the works!
There’s still a few loose ends with the Wedding planning that are getting on my nerves. So I want to get those tied up and ticked off the to-do list. Hopefully that’ll quell the voice in my head that tells me I have so much to do and so little time! Florist and Suits being the biggies that are niggling at me.

Tame the Mess – I can’t stand mess. If you’d have told my parents I’d be this houseproud when I was living with them they’d have laughed in your face, because you couldn’t see my bedroom floor half the time.
I’m getting a little lax in this department now, so I’m going to make a conscious effort to clear up after myself. I do anyway, but sometimes I’ll leave a few glasses here and there.. put extra crap on the dining room table and leave it to pile up etc. So I’m going to make sure I put things in their rightful place when I get them/are done with it. It’s great to save time and avoid the anxiety I get when my house is a tip!

Phase Out my Insta Theme – Since I started doing a white theme on my Instagram my engagement and traffic went up like crazy. However a white theme is a pain the the arse. It’s limiting, it’s hard work, it takes the fun out of it. You’re constantly having to prep and check that what you’re posting all fits. No. Don’t like it, not about that life.
So I’m going to phase it out to a different theme purely because it will give me a little bit more freedom with what I post. Unfortunately social media has a huge impact on the success of a blog so where this may seem really unnecessary and trivial to others it’s pretty vital for me.

Clear my Wardrobe – Autumn is here, so the time for t-shirts, sundresses and most other Summer get ups are over. Plus there’s a tonne of stuff in my wardrobe I don’t wear or can’t part with because “I’ll get into it when I’m thin again”. Yeah alright Laura, keep telling yourself that..
To make this easier for when Spring/Summer rolls round again I’ll be using the coat hanger trick. All hooks will face towards the door of the wardrobe and anything that hasn’t been worn is going to charity. The rest of my Summer stuff is getting moved up into the loft to make space.
Jumpers and layers are going to come down and I’ll be going through all that as well to make sure I haven’t hoarded anything I don’t need anymore.

Find a Hobby – I’ve tried to take up different hobbies and always end up either bored or don’t have the time. I’ve giving brush lettering a go, sewing, knitting but never stuck with them. But I’d like to give cross stitch a go! It’s so simple and looks really therapeutic. You can get a cool designs to do and hang on your wall when you’re done!
Whether or not I actually go ahead with that I don’t know yet. But regardless I’d like to make time for a hobby to channel my creativity. Binge watching Netflix is melting my brain.

So those are my September goals; have you guys got any that you’ve set for yourself? Let me know in the comments below!

    • I find it to be a good way to keep me focused. And when I think I may have had a really crappy month, I can look back at your goals and say “oh, I did that!”.

Gives you a sense of accomplishment too x

    • There’s tonnes. Literally put “instagram theme” into YouTube and you’ll get a whole load come up that you can use as inspiration! x

  1. Good luck with all your September goals. I also post a similar list like this every month. It helps keep myself accountable and actually achieve them!

  2. I literally sat down earlier today to write down September goals, and then it hit me that we’re already halfway through it. ….what? Yeah, I hear you. My number 5 is to pick up a hobby again…I haven’t done scrapbooking or carpentry in ages, and my soul feels it. Good luck with your awesome goal list!

  3. Love this idea, maybe I should start thinking about October goals! I really like the number graphics you’ve used on this post. Good luck with the wedding planning!
