The Sunshine Blogger Award

How exciting! I’ve had my blog for a while but it was always on the back burner and have only recently given it the TLC it deserves, and it shows the time I’ve been putting into it has paid off because I got myself a nomination for a Sunshine Blogger Award!
Thank you so much to Zombie Goddess Beauty for her nomination. It’s so nice to get recognition from the blogging community and it’s an awesome way to get to know each other and the people behind the posts!

WHAT IS THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD?

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to bloggers who are creative, positive and inspiring. Once nominated the blogger is required to write a post in which they:

THE GLUE THAT HOLDS THIS WHOLE THING TOGETHER:

So here we go; questions for me from Cassie!

1.  If You Could go on a Trip Anywhere Where Would You Go?
Ohhh, good question! Not gonna lie, having a Dad whose a Travel Agent has definitely had its perks! So I’ve been very blessed to have travelled quite a lot in my life and visit places some people only dream of.

If I could travel anywhere now, I think an African safari would be up there. I’d love to be able to see the giants and the beautiful animals that live on this planet in their own habitat and see them for what they are and how they should truly be.

2. If You Had to Forget Every Series You Ever Read/Watched But One, Which Series Would You Want to Remember?

I’ve been sitting here for 20 minutes and I can’t answer this damn question. It’s too hard. Do I go with one of the obvious like FRIENDS (was there any question?) or Game of Thrones because it’s awesome. But then I toss up between stuff I watched as a kid and that shaped my childhood.. like Pokémon or Dragonball Z. I don’t know.. I literally can’t choose. I think I’d rather be a blank slate and rediscover everything all over again. And if I don’t, who cares, I don’t remember it anyway!

3. What is Your Favourite Hobby? (as side from blogging if you don’t blog full time)

I don’t really have a hobby besides blogging.. I’m still trying to find my “thing”. But I love to read. Getting stuck into a good book and letting your imagination take over and having some downtime for a few hours is a really great stress relief for me. I also love being crafty and binge watch DIY videos on YouTube.

4. What is Something You’ve Always Wanted to Try?

I’ve always wanted to try and learn a new language. I used to be great at French when I was at school and having a second language in your back pocket gave me a sense of empowerment. But for whatever reason, rather than keep you on the path of what you’re excelling at.. they switched me over to German a few years in and it all literally fell out of my head. I was trying to cram it with something new and it was something I just couldn’t get to grips with. Given that most of the Earths population speak Spanish, it would be nice to share that skill.

5. Would you Ever Make Blogging Your Job? Or Have You Already Gone Full Time? If so What’s it Like?

I haven’t really thought about it. I didn’t start my blog with the intention of doing it full time or it “becoming” anything.. it was just a hobby and a creative and personal outlet for me. And if it helped or spoke to other people and they enjoyed the content, then that was a big bonus!
But if the opportunity arose and I was able to have continued inspiration for things to share/do/engage in then I think I would, absolutely!

6. What is Your Favourite Guilty Pleasure Show?

I don’t consider it a guilty pleasure because it’s awesome, but I loooooove RuPaul’s Drag Race. It fascinates me. I love all the personalities that come out and the talents they all have. How they make something from nothing and smash it on the runway in it floors me. I also think it’s a highly underrated art form and the struggles people go through to do what they love is really inspiring.

7. Describe Yourself in 3 Words or Phrases.

Tenacious – if I get something in my head and I want something, I’ll get it. Doesn’t matter how long it takes or what I have to overcome, I’ll have/do it. It’s a word that applies to every aspect of who I am. Emotionally, mentally, physically. It can be my downfall sometimes because I find it very hard to let go and the fall from rejection/failure can be a long one. But it’s who I am and I never give up.

Resilient – despite my personal struggles and demons. Without this, I don’t think I’d be dealing with my some of my circumstances even a fraction as “well” as I am. Sometimes it can take me time to bounce back but throughout everything… I have and I’ve always become a better person for it. I love life, I love those around me and my perspective improves/changes each and every time. I’m always (now anyway) able to put a positive spin on a shit situation, see the bright side and have hope.

Dark Horse – this gets said to me quite a lot so I feel it should be included, and I definitely don’t see it as a bad thing! It keeps people on their toes, haha! I may be shy and socially awkward but you should never make an assumption and think you know everything about me. Because I’ll do a 180 and be or do the polar opposite of what you thought I would.

8. What is Your Favourite Cancelled TV Show?

Misfits. If you’re not from the UK or you’ve never heard of it… it’s a dark comedy/sci-fi show that follows a bunch of delinquents who have been given community service and acquire supernatural powers after a freak electrical storm. I loved that show and was absolutely gutted when it got cancelled. Nathan’s dark and twisted humour always had me laughing. He’s definitely one of my all-time favourite TV characters. Yeah, it got a bit stale after a lot of the main characters stopped making an appearance, but I never missed an episode.

9. Do You Collect Anything?

Fridge magnets. Don’t know why it’s just my thing. I have one magnetic space in my house, which is the overhead fan in my kitchen and it is absolutely caked in them. Anytime anyone I know goes away, doesn’t matter where, I’ll demand one. My brother and my parents travel quite often, so I constantly get my collection added too and I do a little happy dance on the inside when I get a new one, haha.

10. What is One Thing Your Readers Might Not Know About You?
I associate people with colours. As long as I can remember, I’ve always done it. Best way to describe it is “seeing auras”. Only I don’t see them, I just get a vibe/sense and a colour pops into my head when I meet someone. I consider myself a good judge of character and I attribute that to this. If I come across someone who strikes me as dark or muddy in aura I’ll steer well clear.

It does tend to change or evolve the longer I’ve known someone because it depends on what’s going on with them.. so I’m pretty good picking up on peoples moods or knowing if someone is hiding/struggling with something. Obviously, I won’t just point it out but I can see past the bravado they put on because you can’t hide that from me.

Yeah, I know… I’m weird.

11. What Do You Love Most About Blogging?
There’s a tonne of reasons why I love blogging. I used to be really great at creative writing when I was younger. Whether that was stories, poems or even journals – it was a creative outlet for me. When I read back on things I’ve written in the past I’m like… did I really do that? So it’s rekindled my love of writing. Whether it’s personal or creative. No one has to like it, but the fact they do is really satisfying!

It’s also opened up the opportunity to connect with other people within the community who have the same passion/interests as me. Plus you occasionally get free stuff when brands reach out to you to review their products and who doesn’t love a good freebie?!

Haha I love some of your answers! I have a bucket list and an African Safari is one of them. I am also in the process of learning Spanish and I find it a cathartic process, I initially wanted to learn how to speak German since I come from a German family but I think Spanish will be something I speak more of.

I enjoy your blog and I will frequent it, your writing is witty and entertaining.

      Thank you so much 🙂
I just checked you out too but can’t seem to comment on any of your posts?

I agree! Learning something new, anything new, is hugely beneficial. And not always in the obvious sense either.
Lovely to meet a like minded person.
