IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Review

So I recently ran out of my favourite foundation and decided to try something new.  I’ve come across this brand a few times but hadn’t taken much notice, however this product caught my eye and I decided I wanted to give it a try.  It’s the IT Cosmetics “Your Skin But Better” CC+ foundation.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Developed with plastic surgeons, it truly gives you full, flawless, perfect coverage and protects your skin with SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen.
Clinically shown to give you 179% of skin hydration, smooth skin texture and enhance skin brightness, this breakthrough colour-correcting cream never creases or cracks and instantly camouflages skin imperfections including dark spots. Plus, it’s infused with an advanced anti-ageing serum made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C and E that work in harmony to diffuse the look of wrinkles, minimise pores and give you a more radiant, supple and flawless-looking complexion.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I’m a sucker for anything holographic, so I looove the packaging.  Simple, clean, shiny and highlights the benefits of the CC+ cream.  The particular product I bought came with their specially designed HEAVENLY SKIN brush and I, like most people, love getting something for nothing so the free brush sort of sold it for me.  I’m also lazy and just cannot be arsed to put layer upon layer of creams and serums onto my face but also think that taking care of your skin is really important, so to have such a high SPF and skin loving ingredients incorporated into the foundation was a bonus.

I tend to go for medium-full coverage when it comes to foundation but it’s very hard to find one that covers well without it sitting in your lines and pores and looking cakey and in my experience, CC cream hasn’t really cut it for me.  I find they go on more like a moisturiser and are pretty sheer, so I was really surprised with how well this covers and how little was actually needed.  It also has the most amazing citrus smell which is a nice pick-me-up for the morning time if you’re still half asleep.  I was able to pin it down to smelling just like my Mum’s lemon curd cake!

I was under the impression it was just a tube, so when I took the lid off and found it had a pump I was really happy! It’s the little things that please me more, ha. I hate waste and a pump helps to minimise that so that was definitely a gold star from me.

FINAL THOUGHTS

After applying with the brush (which is SUPER soft and a dream to use) and testing it out, I was really REALLY happy.  I’ve fallen in love and think this will end up being my staple foundation from now on.  The brush is super soft and buffs the foundation out so you end up with flawless coverage that’s even and blended.
I would recommend at least 2 pumps for your entire face, and would dab it on with your fingers before blending out as I found some of the product was lost in the fibres when I tried it straight from the brush. But depending on how you apply you’ll get medium to full coverage and I personally didn’t need to add any concealer to cover dark circles or imperfections on the face.

If you’re stuck between colours like I usually am I’d go with medium. It adjusts really well with your natural tones and seems to like the easiest shade to wear if you’re anything like me where lights are too light and mediums are too dark.

I’ve been wearing it for most of the day and it hasn’t moved, hasn’t creased and my skin feels really hydrated and like I’m not wearing any makeup at all.  They have 5 shades from Fair to Rich.. I went for light as I find mediums are a little too dark for me and my skin tone is a little cooler and it was a perfect match for me.  Not too light, not too warm.  Just right.  Medium is apparently their most used shade so if you’re not on the pale side like I am, maybe go for that one instead.

Overall, I love it and it was definitely worth the price tag (£30 brush included).  I don’t usually like to spend that much on makeup, but you get what you pay for and I have a feeling due to not needing a lot to get a nice coverage it’ll be lasting me for quite some time and helps to justify it.

Have you tried this out – what’s your thoughts? and if not, what is your favourite foundation to use?
