Your Tea TeaFace Scrub Review

I got this in my Vegan Kind beauty box back in February and to tell you the truth, I’d completely forgotten about it.  But when I was rummaging around in my spare bedroom doing a tidy up I came across it again and figured I’d put it on my face.
Your Tea is mainly an online tea shop (no shit), and they have a tea for everything. From wellness tea’s for your tits, tea for hangovers, sex tea, skin magic tea, tiny tea, happy tea, man tea etc; right through to fancy café teas like chocolate tea, strawberry tea, hazelnut tea, chai tea, apple nut crumble tea and the usual English breakfasts and Earl Grey’s.. quite literally everything.  So when I saw that they have this random face mask amongst all their products I found it a bit random to be honest. Why would a tea company sell a face mask, surely they don’t know anything about skincare?  Anyways onto the good stuff.

Indulgence in a jar.
Teaface is a glorious mix of TinyTea granules combined with healing high grade essential oils. Add to that amalgamation; an exotic scent of ylang ylang to soothe one’s soul. We believe in pampering your skin with natural products, straight from the earth and back to you.
Sounds good right?

☑ Gently exfoliating & revitalising skin
☑ Deeply nourishing skin
☑ Healing scars
☑ Addressing uneven skin tone
☑ Glowing complexion

The packaging is cute.  And when you open it up, the tea mask is in a mason jar which I thought was quirky and fun but inside it looked like this big brown goop.
Opening it up and sticking my nose in it (as you do) I was a little put off.  Because to me personally, this stuff STINKS. However! reading reviews online 99% of their customers all said it smells refreshing, amazing and lovely. So I got Karne to have a whiff and he said it smelt exactly like Turkish Delight and couldn’t get enough of it.  So I think it’s just me.

It looks weird; like soggy compost and it feels like it too.  So again I was a little sceptical about putting this stuff on my face.  I could tell it was gunna go absolutely everywhere.  And I was right, this shit get’s EVERYWHERE; doesn’t matter how careful you are.. it got in my hair, all over my top, all in the sink and on the floor.  It was fucking everywhere and it did feel like it was being wasted; fortunately I hadn’t paid for it otherwise it would have literally been money down the drain. With it’s tea leafy clumpy texture it’s hard to keep it on your face, so I do think it would be better if they were able to turn it into a paste of some kind. I would suggest wearing an apron or something when you put it on!

After applying this stuff all over my face and feeling like I’d shoved my face in a cow pat, as well as making a fuck off mess in the bathroom I had just cleaned.. I left it on for 10 mins.  It says you can leave it for anything between that and an hour, but the smell was too offensive for me so it got washed off ASAP.  I wasn’t expecting a lot from it, I’ll be completely honest.
But then, as I washed it off and pat dried my face.. son of a mother duck my face was softer than a newborns behind!  It was amazing.. I have never, ever experienced anything like it.  It was like I’d rubbed a fluffy puppy all over my face.  I was gobsmacked.

I didn’t want to get too excited in case it was a one off, so I subjected Karne to having a facial as well. Not that he complained about it.  He put it on and fucked off to play x-box for around 3hrs before washing it off, and when he had he couldn’t believe it either.  I think his words were “my skin has never ever been this soft, not since I crawled out of the womb”, or something to that effect anyway.  I don’t know how else to explain it, our faces felt moisturised, toned, tightened and like glass or a really polished pebble.

The ingredients they use are rose hip oil, ylang ylang, cold pressed coconut oil, patchouli oil, jojoba oil and tinytea granules but I’m just gunna go out on a limp and call it witchcraft!  And for a RRP £17.50, it’s amazing value, especially as this can be used everywhere on the body for the same effects.
